Dilshan Lankathilaka is currently the Head of Human Resources Learning and Development at a large private bank. His role encompasses overseeing training and development, talent management, and the implementation of organizational change management strategies. Dilshan has a notable background in designing and executing Learning and Development (L&D) strategies that align with corporate goals, emphasizing employee capability building across various levels.

Dilshan is presented as an accomplished leader with over 20 years of diversified experience in banking, consumer goods, and logistics. He holds several certifications, including in Talent Management and Competency Mapping, and possesses a Master’s degree in Business Administration from Cardiff Metropolitan University, UK. His professional achievements include launching various training initiatives and frameworks that enhanced organizational culture and efficiency, such as the NDB Leadership Competency Framework and the successful automation of L&D processes.

Throughout his career, Dilshan has won multiple awards for his contributions, including the Gold Award for Learning and Development at the 2018 and 2024 SLITAD Awards, the Great Manager Award in 2020 for Aligning Organizational Vision, the Learning and Development Leadership Award in 2024, and the CIMA Leadership Award in 2023. His approach to leadership emphasizes people management, engagement, and the use of analytics to develop talent pools and succession plans effectively.

In his previous roles, he held various positions at two other private banks and in an international logistics company. He has wide exposure to international trade, branch banking, credit operations, SWIFT operations, foreign clearing, and supply chain and logistics. His educational qualifications and professional training include a variety of certifications related to organizational psychology and human resources, solidifying his expertise in these fields.

Dilshan’s additional interests reflect a commitment to community service, as he has participated in youth coaching and personality development programs. He also has a passion for sports and actively engages in basketball.

As a coach and trainer, Dilshan possesses 20 years of experience, accumulating over 4,000 training and coaching hours. He has inspired more than 5,000 individuals as a coach and trainer, with experience in 20 top corporates in Sri Lanka and around 500 training programs. He represented Sri Lanka as a guest speaker at the MAHRP Learning and Development conference in 2023. His training footprint extends across Sri Lanka, the Maldives, and India as an emerging international trainer.
